Esol - Survival

What three items would be best to have if you were lost in the mountains in New Zealand in winter?

I think the three items would be the best if lost in the mountain of New Zealand in winter are machete, complete winter clothes, and cellphone. I chose machetes because they can be used as many things in the mountains when there are a lot of trees that use the machete to cutting trees to build a wooden house to protect us from severe cold and snow, cutting wood for the fire, and making fish spears. We can use a machete for Hunting food and protect me from dangerous animals.

I choose winter clothes because it gives us protection against the particularly cold weather of winter. It is very important that we have a complete set of winter clothes if we lost in the mountain because we would not last long if we don’t have a complete set of winter clothes. The mountain of New Zealand is very cold during winter and sometimes the gust of wind is so strong and also the weather is unpredictable that why winter clothes are very important. If we cool your body you need a hot drink.

I choose cellphone is also very important when we lost somewhere in the mountain it can save as we can ask for help. We can contact our family, friends, and relatives for help. If there is an emergency we can call 111 for help. We can ask for direction, look for time and weather conditions.

Year 11 Wananga

 Option 1:

Text title: The treaty of Waitangi: What really happened

"The treaty of Waitangi" is director Peter burger. The Crown wrote out the treaty. The Maori chiefs signal the treaty. Tobacco and blankets are given afterward. Lots of arguments and discussion about whether Maori should sign it - because they were concerned about their land, people, right being taken away.
