why are they called bluetooth speaker?
Bluetooth was borrowed from the 10th-centuy, second king of Denmark, King Harald Bluetooth; who was famous for uniting Scandinavia just as we intended to unite the PC and cellular industries with a short-range wireless link.

who invented them?
Tord Wingren, Jaap haartsen, and Sven Mattisson are the inventors of what became Bluetooth.  

why did he invent them?
They were specifically developing it for wireless headsets those would have technically been the first Bluetooth speakers (since a speaker is an integral component to a headset).
